People Who Swear A Lot Are Smarter Than People Who Don't

Which word starts with ‘F’ and ends with ‘UCK’. If you didn’t think of ‘Fire truck’ then I have good news for you! 

For all the times when people simply assumed that you dropped F-bombs just because your vocab was just slightly more evolved than a trained orangutan, you can paste the link to this $%^&-ing blog on their walls because researchers have now found that swearing is directly proportional to verbal intelligence.


The study, a joint effort of psychologists at Marist College and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, found that people who swear more may actually have stronger language skills overall than those who don't.


To test this theory, researchers gave subjects a minute to trash talk and do the same later with a more general subject, such as animal names. 
Opposed to what the generation before you would believe, the people who scored higher on the cuss-meter scored relatively higher with other subject matters too.


So, all the times that you thought that this band or that particularly &^%$-ed or you participated whole heartedly in those massive MC/BC chants, you were probably doing your vocabulary a favour!
