Hands-on Review:- YU Yutopia

DISCLAIMER

The opinion of this product is not to discourage the buyers for buying such product.

The opinion is just to state the pros and cons, with some introduction and specifications.

1. Introduction

Also known as YU Yutopia YU5050
YU, the Cyanogen-powered, online-online sub-brand of Micromax, recently released what it calls the most powerful in the world - Yutopia. The smartphone offers the best hardware available today and a heavily customizable software package, which makes Yutopia a powerful rival to the mid-range powerhouses like Nexus 5X and OnePlus 2.

YU Yutopia sports an all-metal unibody design that makes the smartphone feel solid in the hand, though its looks can be divisive. While YU has taken the design cues used in its Yureka model to Yutopia, we feel that the design flair which would have made it an instant head-turner is missing. However, several people in the office called the look understated and classy, so it will ultimately be a personal choice. #googleplustips

The back of Yutopia is lined by antenna markings, while the huge camera hump and the fingerprint sensor below it remind us of the Nexus 5X. Seems like the fingerprint sensor on the back is the new norm for Android smartphones. At the bottom of the rear casing, just below the YU branding, is the loudspeaker. The notification LED is placed below the screen.

2. In my opinion (Read the Disclaimer above before reading the following)

This phone have many awesome speces. it is better than moto x plus both moto x play & yutopia have Sony exmor imx230 camera sensor.. which is 14 months older.. & yutopia is selling it now by saying Sony's new sensor. Marketing strategy. Anyways the photo quality of the camera is descent but not exceptional. Expected more like other brands flagships or high end phones..
.....
By the way 21mp camera with both packet doing a great job,but yutopia's camera is better because it has sony sensor with a 2 time resolution of full HD with 4k capture....
Fingerprint scanner is shit. Don’t recognize my registered finger easily. Every time it takes 4-5 attempt for recognizing. Started to use pattern for unlocking my device. Camera is also not that great like other flagships. It’s just like midrange phone.

The forum is created for consumer, who had used device and share their feedback, Not for the fools who are own any dumb china's brand and yelling that my one is better and these one is crap, please bro first purchase it then give feedback honestly, because no Chinese brand is going to pay you for doing some stupid activity hear, and some are demanding ir boaster, nfc etc,,,,for god sack don't just start demanding mixi, grinder, hair drier and other household item.....lol.... It’s just cost 25000 friends,,,,inspite of hypocritical comments admire yu.. So that it can provide more better service to you....

Why are you people ready to compromise things from foreign brands and not from Indian ones?? You said that no F-Print Sensor is OK from Moto X Play but I bet will beat the crap out of Yutopia if it lacked the Fingerprint Sensor. And an awesome thing I learnt from you, 2 GHz clock is low clock and 1.7 GHz of OP2 (competition to Yutopia) is good or great. And how can you judge Yutopia's performance without even using it. Yutopia's specs are not matchable with any other. Usability of Yutopia (AroundYu) is excellent and doesn't require us to install a BILLION apps to get a Taxi, Auto, Food etc. as fast as possible which are lacked sorely by Moto X Play and all other competitors.

Dear Anonymous are you misinformed or deliberately misleading the masses here. As you have said the Snapdragon 810 used under the hood of yu yutopia is under clocked, which is a pitch black false statement. You can confirm that the processor used in yu yutopia runs at a deadly combination of two quad core processors @ 1.5 GHz and 2.0 GHz respectively its processor have same speed and specs as google nexus 6p. compare apples with apples not apples with oranges ok. Motorola moto x style is a nice phone but we can't compare Snapdragon 808 with sd810 and also adreno 430 is way ahead of adreno 418 used with Snapdragon 808. You know even Snapdragon 805 has better GPU than Snapdragon 808 as it has adreno 418 which is about 20 percent slower (at 600 MHz) than adreno 420 used in snapdragon 805. I would like if you flash some light on camera storage and processor of one plus two and moto x style in comparison to yu yutopia . I have come to know that yu yutopia is having some issues with fingerprint sensor like it works only 6 times in 10 times usage and have come to know that this problem may get away with marshmallow update as lollipop ddin't had support for fingerprint sensor. So yu and cyanogen have made the software by their own for fingerprint sensor.

Put 100gb of 2k videos.. 20gb of songs and 7gb of apps and see how the iphone 6s 128gb starts lagging. Oh forgot to mention don't put 2k videos put HD only as that so called flagship iphone 6s has no 2k display. You can put Sandisk 200gb in yu yutopia like cheap phone and enjoy. I am not saying yu yutopia is flagship killer or so... but i can definately say that some people haven't got the phone and writing reviews about.... in any phone does't matter apple or Samsung or L.G.  if available ROM gets below 1gb or so it will start lagging when multitasking .so better use Micro sd card in phone which have small rom like yu yutopia as 32gb is not enough for hardcore users....

People have started going defensive for this phone.....
The phone is very tempting. The hardware, the features, the quality, sounds very tempting. But I would again suggest you not to buy this phone.

The phone doesn't perform as well as the other Snapdragon 810 phones in the market. Not to mention the processor is under clocked compared to the competition.

The Oneplus Two from my side is a good phone to consider when you are going for the price range of around 389$ or 25,000 rupees.

But again, you cannot expect the phones to do amazing in every aspect cause there is obvious price cuts.

An amazing phone for the price. You have the customer service of Motorola. They also have worldwide technical support. This phone would be a safer choice.
Yes it doesn't have USB C type nor does it have the 'necessary' fingerprint sensor, but I feel it makes it up by being and amazing phone everywhere else. I have already used the Oneplus 2 and the Motorola Moto X Style.
And I must say that the Moto X lives upto the Motorola flagship standards.

Do consider it when you are going to buy a phone at that price range.
